Against a tense political backdrop, Renew Europe is proud to have maintained the cohesion of the majority in the delicate conciliation negotiations with the Council on the 2025 budget.

The discussions had a long way to go, given the budget cuts envisaged by the EU Finance Ministers. But the final compromise, which will be voted on in Strasbourg at the next plenary session, secures a number of programs that are a priority for our group and eagerly awaited by our fellow citizens.

Fabienne KELLER (Renaissance, France), Renew Europe rapporteur for the 2025 budget, succeeded in obtaining increases for youth (with Erasmus+, which obtains a 10% budget increase compared with 2024), climate (LIFE), competitiveness (Horizon Europe), health (Cluster Health), civil liberties agencies (European Prosecutor's Office, Europol, Eurojust, EUAA, Frontex, eu-LISA), defense (military mobility) and emergency and humanitarian aid (European Civil Protection Mechanism, humanitarian aid).

Mrs Keller (Renaissance, France), Renew Europe rapporteur for the 2025 budget, said, I am pleased to have held firm to guarantee a flexible and responsive 2025 budget, while preserving it from cuts to key programs such as Erasmus+, and EU4health, among others, while ensuring the repayment of interest linked to Next Generation EU ”.
