Renew Europe welcomes today’s plenary adoption of a resolution backing a new European industrial strategy. Our group played a pivotal role, despite attempts by the extremes to undermine Parliament’s effort to reach a broad agreement on a comprehensive strategy to help the sector face the unfolding geopolitical crisis.
Renew Europe calls on both the Council and the Commission to deliver a truly European response to the US Inflation Reduction Act, that ensures Europe’s competitiveness, strives to develop industrial capacity throughout the Union and protects the single market’s integrity, while ensuring that jobs remain in Europe and Europeans are in possession of adequate skills to cope with the current challenges.
