Ensuring accessible digital services and platforms for persons with disabilities
through the Digital Services Act
The objective of the webinar is to discuss on how ensuring accessible digital services and platforms for persons with disabilities and how securing equal rights to all citizens in the digital dimension.
At the end of 2020, the European Commission published a proposal on the “Digital Services Act” (DSA) to update the rules on the internet. While the proposal aims to strengthen rights of consumers of digital services and platforms, the provisions on persons with disabilities could be further specified to ensure an effective accessibility of the digital world.
As the proposal has been in active discussion at the European Parliament and we are reaching a crucial legislative phase, Renew Europe organises - in cooperation with the EDF / European Disability Forum - a discussion on how concretely ensuring rights of persons with disabilities as consumers of digital services and platforms.
The webinar will gather MEPs, officials from the EU Commission and representatives of research communities, industry and persons with disabilities to share their views on ensuring a strong EU regulation for the benefit of all members of society.
