In order to reach climate neutrality by 2050, Europe will need to cut down its transport sector emissions by 90%.
In order to reach climate neutrality by 2050, Europe will need to cut down its transport sector emissions by 90%. To make this a reality, Commission has set ambitious goals to boost the uptake of zero-emission vehicles and renewable fuels in transport: by 2030, at least 30 million zero-emission cars should be operational on European roads and the share of renewable fuels in transport should be at least 14%. At the same time, some Member States have even demanded a phase-out date for new petrol and diesel cars and vans.
The webinar will have the objective to explore 1) what are the technological options for drastically reducing transport sector emissions and eventually reaching zero-emissions mobility and what is needed for the ensuring the transition and what are its costs and 2) the role of alternative fuels and alternative fuels infrastructure in the light of the upcoming legislative proposal of the Commission.
This webinar will allow RENEW EUROPE Group Members to exchange with the related stakeholders and also between themselves in order to reach a common understanding and position in view of the upcoming revision of Dir. 2014
