Gender and Trade - Policy Paper
In March 2018, the European Parliament adopted its own-initiative resolutionon gender equality in trade agreements.
In this resolution, the EP advocatedfor a more active role for gender equality in the European Union’s tradeagreements. It also stressed theneed for enforceability of trade andsustainable development (TSD) chapters, and the close monitoring ofviolations that occur within the framework of a trade agreement. Furthermore,the resolution highlighted the need for the collection of more gender-disaggregated data on the impact of trade on women.
